The motorcyclist is identified as Hapaki Teixeira, who was transported to Hilo Benioff Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead Aug. 11 at 10:08 p.m.

Maxwell Robertson Sherwood was on Orchidland Drive and not in a marked crosswalk when the Wrangler driven by 30-year-old Dallas Brooks hit him Friday night. Brooks was arrested for first-degree negligent homicide and operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant.
