Charges against 23-year-old Kailua-Kona man Arley Alokoa and a juvenile male stem from an incident June 1 at Kailua-Kona Pier involving an alleged sexual assault, an affray during which another man was injured and a theft of a backpack that likely was the location of the knife used in the fight.

After buying a knife and metal knuckles at a store in Hilo, Jacob Baker allegedly told his friend who drove him there that he would “shank all the rapists in Pāhoa and anyone who messed with him.”

She allegedly went to her ex-boyfriend’s residence and threatened him with a 45-pound weighted exercise plate, struck him with her fist, bit him on the upper back and damaged his van.

49-year-old Chante Livingston of Ocean View is charged with first-degree assault and second-degree assault in connection with the incident in Ocean View; her bail was set at $15,000, and she is scheduled to make her initial court appearance Wednesday (Feb. 11).

39-year-old Isaac Kamali‘i was arrested after holing up for several hours at an Aloha Drive residence the evening of Oct. 16 in connection with the case of a stolen ʻĀinaloa vehicle.

20-year-old Lasty Jessy is charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree theft, unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and other offenses in connection with an alleged car theft the evening of 4th of July at Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport and a police chase and 2-vehicle car crash fewer than 2 days later in Hilo.

Andrew Amon of Ocean View and Kaleo Mello of Nā‘ālehu were both located and taken into custody in separate Ka‘ū locations earlier this week by Big Island police.

21-year-old Akira Kauilani of Kailua-Kona was arrested for reckless endangering, operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant and other traffic-related offenses following the incident that happened just after 3 a.m. the morning of April 4 at the intersection of Konalani Street and Palani Road while police were responding to the scene of an early morning traffic crash.

44-year-old Dante F. Modaffari of Mountain View was arrested Feb. 13 and subsequently charged with first-degree assault and abuse of a family/household member in connection with the violent assault.

36-year-old Sione Siale was arrested and charged following the incident Dec. 11 at a residence on Pearl Drive. He is charged with first-degree reckless endangering, 2 counts of first-degree terroristic threatening and ownership or possession of firearm or ammunition prohibited.

21-year-old Ar Aweni faces several charges including terroristic threatening, assault and unlawful imprisonment in connection with the incidents Nov. 7 in Kalaoa area of Kona.

Hoʻokena Elementary School was also locked down after an employee saw a man walking on the highway with a gun who was staring into the schoolyard while children were playing.

71-year-old Wayne Okutsu of Hilo, who was driving the car, was arrested for first-degree negligent injury and is being detained at the East Hawai‘i Detention Facility in Hilo. The investigation is ongoing.

George Dale Foote Jr. of Pāhoa was released on bond and is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Aug. 1 in Puna District Court.

The May 10 incident began with a report of 3 men yelling in the area of Coral Parkway, between King Kamehameha Boulevard and Tiki Lane, and ended with a man whose sister says is mentally ill identifying 48-year-old Daniel Moriarty as the person who shot him with a rusty black powder revolver.

Daniel Raymond Ulrich worked as an officer for the Hawai‘i Police Department six years ago. In April 2019, he was arrested and charged for a similar type of domestic-related incident.

25-year-old Marty Pangelinan was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of fourth-degree criminal property damage after two separate businesses along Kuakini Highway were robbed Feb. 26.

67-year-old Glenn Gruenhagen was arrested Friday afternoon for first-degree terroristic threatening and harassment.

39-year-old Alexander Alika Akau III of Waikōloa is being detained in the Kona Police Station cellblock and has not yet been charged with any crimes.

Adib Beyah, a 36-year-old from Pāhoa, and 40-year-old John Elijah Lewis of Pāpa‘ikou were arrested following the incident the evening of Oct. 5 on Papaya Farms Road in Pāhoa.
