Fire Destroys Home on Pahoa-Kalapana Road

A fire of unknown origin Wednesday night destroyed a home  on the Pahoa-Kalapana Road, also known as Highway 130.

Firefighters from the Pahoa station arriving at the scene near the Black Sands Beach subdivision at 6:45 p.m. found the single-story, three-bedroom home engulfed in flames.

It took firefighters about 40 minutes to extinguish the blaze.

Damage was estimated at $125,000.
