Police have charged a 34-year-old man with first-degree reckless endangering and other offenses after he allegedly fired several gunshots from a vehicle in front of a house last month on Elama Street in the Pana`ewa area of Hilo.

Last Thursday, police arrested Kevin Kuhia after they located him and the vehicle, a red Mazda Miata, at a vacant lot on Lehua Street in the Fern Acres subdivision.

Kuhia, who has no permanent address, was also charged Saturday with car theft and two firearms offenses.

His bail was initially set at $70,000.
