Honor “Irish Jack” with a Party on St. Paddy’s
Who’s Irish Jack?
This Saturday March 16, the one time partner of John Palmer Parker, and grandfather of 1908 Cheyenne Frontier Days National Rodeo Champion, Ikua Purdy, will be celebrated with libation and traditional Irish fare.
There will be Irish dancing and dance contests, bag piping, beer from Big Island Brewhaus, corned beef and cabbage, Irish soda bread, live music and more.
Wine and soda will also be available.
Entertainment includes Irish musician, singer, guitarist, Cristean Mac l’osog and fiddle player Tony Selvage. Keiki can enjoy Irish bingo, while adults suspend skepticism with a taro card reading.
Do it up, for the best dressed Irish lad and lass will also be picked and awarded prizes. Tickets are $15 at the gate, $10 pre-sale and $5 for children aged 6 and younger. One drink is included with ticket purchase.
Tickets are sold at the Kamuela Liquor Store and Parker Ranch Store. The event takes place at the Pukalani Stables in Kamuela.
Proceeds from this event helps sustain the Paniolo Preservation Society. Raise money and the fun quotient this Saturday night. The Irish eve begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.
Grab the kids, decide who’s sticking to soda or water for the night, assign a friend the noble job of being DD, or designated driver, and wear green.
