Cruz Helps the Kids With Benefit Concert
Oahu born crooner, John Cruz helps send the soccer kids from Kona Crush to the state playoffs with a benefit concert Sunday March 10.
This accomplished singer-songwriter has won multiple Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, as well as the first Grammy Award ever given to recognize stellar Hawaiian music.
Cruz was recognized for his song “Jo Bo’s Night” on a slack key guitar compilation in 2005.
Cruz will begin performing around 5 p.m. with other local artists rounding out the lineup. There will be food available for purchase at the event from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Bavarian born, Durgas brothers Benjii and Christopher Simmersbauch join the fun with their socially conscious music known worldwide.
Tickets are $25 in advance, $35 at the door, and $10 for students. Children 5 years of age and younger get in free. This concert takes place at the Old Airport Pavillion in Kailua-Kona.
