Pahoa Man Charged in June Break-in in HPP

A 20-year-old Pahoa man was charged Wednesday with burglary in connection with an incident that occurred last month in Hawaiian Paradise Park.

Police said Sepeti Alamti “Joe” Tuaefe was with several men who allegedly broke into a house on 14th Avenue at 2 a.m. on June 27 and assaulted a 19-year-old Kea`au man. The victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment.

Police said Tuaefe and the others fled before police arrived at the scene.

Tuaefe was arrested Wednesday morning.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident to identify other individuals involved.
