The 2026 Hawaiʻi Island Agrifood Summit was rescheduled for Nov. 5 with daytime and evening events taking place in Honokaʻa.

The annual event originally scheduled for mid August was postponed due to Tropical Storm Lala.

The County of Hawaiʻi hosts the summit every year to celebrate and showcase the people and partnerships that strengthen Hawaiʻi Island’s agrifood system.

The daytime summit will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Honokaʻa People’s Theatre and will include a presentation of the Hawaiʻi Island Agrifood System Plan and the Hawaiʻi Island Community Food Security Report. Both will be available on the county Department of Research and Development’s website on Nov. 5.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required by Oct. 28 at https://tinyurl.com/cohagrifood.

Later that day, a community event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at Honokaʻa Gym at the Honokaʻa Sports Complex with local music, food and craft vendors, community resources, and activities for all ages, including coconut basket weaving, lei making and local flower arranging.

The evening event is free and open to the public. Registration is not required.

The summit is hosted by the county Department of Research and Development in collaboration with Hāmākua Institute, The Food Basket, the Hawaiʻi Department of Health, and Naupaka Events and Weddings.
