The Waiʻōhinu Transfer Station will return to its normal operating schedule beginning Saturday, Oct. 24, following temporary seven-day-a-week service to assist residents with storm debris cleanup, according to Hawai‘i County officials.

The solid waste transfer station will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. It will be closed on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Recycling services will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on operating days.

Greenwaste disposal, added to support storm cleanup, will continue to be available on days the transfer station is open.

Residents are encouraged to plan their disposal trips around the normal operating schedule. Signs will be posted at the transfer station to notify the community of the change.
