Lālāmilo water-use restrictions lifted after Hurricane Nolo outages
The Hawaiʻi County Department of Water Supply has lifted the water-use restrictions for the Lālāmilo and South Kohala areas after power was restored following Hurricane Nolo.
The Hawaiʻi County Department of Water Supply has canceled the essential water use-only notice for customers in the Lālāmilo and South Kohala area after electrical power was restored following Hurricane Nolo.
The cancellation is effective immediately, allowing customers in Kawaihae, Kawaihae Harbor, Hapuna Beach Resort, Mauna Kea Beach Resort, Puakō and the Mauna Lani Resort area to resume normal water use.
The department said its pumping equipment is operating normally now that power has been restored. Officials nevertheless urged customers to conserve water and avoid unnecessary use.
The department also thanked customers and the community for their cooperation during the restrictions.
