The Gilbert Kahele Recreation Area on Daniel K. Inouye Highway (Saddle Road) on will be closed from 4 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, July 28 for vector control operations.
Vector control operations refers to the management and reduction of disease-carrying organisms like mosquitoes, ticks, and rodents through surveillance, source reduction, and targeted treatments.
Residents and visitors are asked to plan to travel through the area knowing that the public restrooms and amenities at the park will not be available during treatment hours.
