Residents in the Waimea-Kohala area might notice increased military aircraft activity on July 4, as U.S. Marine Aircraft Group 24 conducts routine flight training.

The training is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. July 4 and will include KC-130J Super Hercules aircraft and MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft operating over parts of the region.

Flight crews will follow established noise-abatement procedures to help minimize impacts to surrounding neighborhoods. However, even with those measures in place, residents might still experience periods of elevated noise.

All flight operations will be conducted in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations and applicable safety standards.
