Lane closures scheduled through July 3 on several roadways around Big Island

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures planned for weekdays, unless otherwise noted, through July 3 on several Big Island roadways.

Note: In observance of the Fourth of July, there will be no contraflow or lane closures July 3 unless otherwise permitted.

HIGHWAY 11

HILO TO VOLCANO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.0 and 36 in the vicinity of Banyan Drive, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through July 2 for removal of existing striping and installation of new striping and pavement markers.

VOLCANO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 28 and 30 in the vicinity of Crater Rim Drive and Kīlauea Military Camp, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. through July 2 for Hawaiian Electric to remove old poles and conductors.

HŌLUALOA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 109 and 119 in the vicinity of Koa Road and Kuakini Highway, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through July 2 for removal of existing striping and applying new striping and pavement markers.

HIGHWAY 19

HILO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.8 and 2.3 in the vicinity of Banyan Drive and Waiānuenue Avenue, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through July 2 for paving and striping.

HONOMŪ

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 13.3 and 13.5 in the vicinity of Honomū Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 30-July 1 for work on maintenance and repairs on the Pāheʻeheʻe Bridge.

NĪNOLE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 17.9 and 18.2 in the vicinity of Government Main Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through July 2 for work on Nanue Stream Bridge.

ʻŌʻŌKALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 29.2 and 32 in the vicinity of Old Māmalahoa Highway, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through July 2 for work on Kāholo Stream Bridge.

KAILUA-KONA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 96.8 and 99.4 in the vicinity of Honokōhau Street and Palani Road, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. through July 2 for replacing pavement markers.

HIGHWAY 130

KEAʻAU TO PĀHOA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.0 and 21.8 in the vicinity of Māmalahoa Highway and Kaimū-Chain of Craters Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through July 2 for removal of existing striping and applying new striping and pavement markers.

HIGHWAY 200

UPPER WAIĀKEA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 10 and 19.5, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through July 3 for emergency safety improvements.
