Hawai‘i Fire Department responded to a structure fire at Lavaloha Chocolate Farm in Hilo.

Crews responded to the blaze at 10:35 a.m. Hawai‘i Fire Assistant Chief Chris Carvalho said no one was in the building at the time.

About 30 firefighters battled the fire. Carvalho said two tankers, each holding 3,000 gallons, were brought to the scene as there were no fire hydrants in the area.

Additionally, the Hawai‘i County Department of Public Works provided a 2,500-gallon water tanker as well as a mini excavator to help move debris.

The blaze was under control within three hours.

The cause of the fire is unknown. There were no reported injuries.
