Hawai‘i Island police seek public help finding missing 88-year-old man

Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s help in locating an elderly man who was reported missing from the Keauhou area.

James Gramlich, 88, was last seen during the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 20, at a residence on Maliko Street in Keauhou wearing dark checkered boxer shorts and no shoes.

Police believe Gramlich may have left the residence in a white 1996 Chevrolet Silverado single-cab pickup truck bearing Hawaiʻi license plate ZKH 890. The vehicle has reportedly been missing since at least 5:30 a.m.

Gramlich is Caucasian, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 235 pounds, and bald.

Police ask anyone with information regarding Gramlich’s whereabouts to call the department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311.
