Mokulele Airlines increase fares amid rising fuel prices

Mokulele Airlines, an exclusive interisland carrier, is increasing its fares by an average of $10 per seat across all Hawaiʻi routes.

Mokulele Airlines is an essential part of some Hawaiʻi residents’ lives, who use the airline to commute to work on another island, attend school or receive medical care.

To continue providing 100 daily flights to customers, the airline had to adjust fares due to rising fuel prices, according to Mokulele President Louis Saint-Cyr.

“This was not an easy decision, and one we approached with a great deal of care,” Saint-Cyr said. “Every day, our flights help keep the Islands connected, and our commitment to you, and to Hawaiʻi, remains unchanged: to provide safe, reliable and consistent service you can count on.”

The fare increases are coming as Surf Air Mobility — the parent company of Mokulele Airlines — is preparing to launch the United State’s first electric passenger flights in Hawaiʻi, which are set to be certified in 2027 or 2028.
