Kailua Village Business Improvement District seeks nominations for 3 new board members
Think you have what it takes to help lead a 2025 World Festival & Event City and continue the success of the West Hawai’i community?
Kailua Village Business Improvement District is looking for three new members to serve on its board of directors. There are two 2 open board seats available to commercial tenants and one available for a fee simple owner or lessee of land within the district.
The three new members will be elected May 14 during the Kailua Village Business Improvement District Annual Meeting at Royal Kona Resort.

Qualified board applicants receiving the most votes per category will be elected for a 2-year term.
A candidate application form is available at the Kailua Village Business Improvement District website.
The 17-member board of directors includes four appointed positions and 13 elected seats, selected by the fee simple owners and/or lessees of land within Kailua Village Business Improvement District.
The district hosts Kokua Kailua Village Stroll monthly, spring and fall concerts and Kailua Kalikimaka holiday events. It also serves as the fiscal sponsor for the July 4th Independence Day Parade and Kailua Village Christmas Parade.
Kailua Village Business Improvement District sponsors the Royal Footsteps Along the Kona Coast, the state’s second Hawai’i Scenic Byway. The award-Winning smartphone app is free to download and teaches users more about the history, significant cultural sites and things do along the Kona Coast.
Historic Kailua Village also recently received global recognition when the International Festivals & Events Association honored it as a 2025 World Festival & Event City along with Philadelphia and Pittsburg in Pennsylvania, Dublin, Ireland, and Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

A brief resume/statement of interest should be included. A maximum of 50 words/information about the candidates will be included on the ballot at the annual meeting.
