Water restriction notice issued to customers in South Kohala

A water restriction notice was issued to customers in South Kohala communities due to drought conditions.

Affected areas include Āhualoa to Waiemi Subdivision, including Honokaia, Pu‘ukapu, Nienie, Waimea Town, Lālāmilo Farm Lots, portions of Mana Road, portions of Māmalahoa Highway, Anekona Estates and Kānehoa Subdivision.

Customers are required to reduce water use by at least 25%, and irrigation customers are required to reduce water use by 50%.

Performing the following steps will help to conserve water:

• Wash only full loads of laundry and dishes
• Check faucets and pipes for leaks
• Do not let water run when washing hands, shaving, or brushing teeth
• Reduce showering times
