Arson not suspected after Captain Cook home destroyed in blaze

No injuries were reported following a structure fire in Captain Cook.

Hawai‘i Island police responded to the blaze on the 87-400 block of Kaohe Road at 3:18 p.m. on Tuesday. When Kona Patrol officers arrived on scene, the residence was fully engulfed in flames and Hawaiʻi Fire Department personnel were working to put out the fire, which was extinguished at 3:56 p.m.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined, and arson is not suspected, and the estimated cost of damages has not yet been determined.
