Police ask for tips in disappearance 2 years ago of Pāhoa man

Hawaiʻi Island police are again seeking the public’s help in locating Kelly Gravitt, a man from Pāhoa who has been missing for more than two years.

Gravitt was 34 at the time he was last seen on the evening of May 19, 2023, in the Pāhoa town area, police said. He now is 37.

Detectives with the Area I Criminal Investigation Section said they have conducted numerous interviews and follow-up investigations since Gravitt’s disappearance but have been unable to determine his whereabouts.

Authorities said Gravitt’s family remains deeply concerned for his safety and are desperate for answers.

Gravitt is a combat-wounded military veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He is described as white, about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds, with brown hair, blue eyes and a beard. Police said he has several tattoos on his face and neck.

Police said even small details could be helpful with the continuing investigation.
