Community can learn Six Pillars of Brain Health during AARP Hawaiʻi webinar series
Start the New Year by keeping your mind and body healthy through a series of monthly webinars about brain health with Maui wellness coach Carl Powell.

The first webinar is at 10 a.m. Jan. 13, and the series continues on the second Tuesday each month through 2026.
Powell will discuss the Six Pillars of Brain Health. He will teach participants how to engage their brain and explain AARP’s Staying Sharp website during the January webinar. He will also provide other resources available to challenge the mind.
Following the six pillars can keep your brain sharp and healthy longer.
The hour will include physical activities such as Qigong, tapping and stretching to keep your body healthy as well.
Other webinars will cover the rest of the Pillars of Brain Health:
- Staying Social in February.
- Managing Stress in March.
- Ongoing Exercise in April.
- Restorative Sleep in May.
- Eating Right in June.
The Six Pillars of Brain Health will be repeated each month for the rest of 2026.
It is not necessary to sign up for the entire series; those who want to participate can take individual webinars. The series is also open to the public.
