15 lane closures scheduled during week of Nov. 22-28 on Big Island state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 15 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Big Island state roadways during the week of Nov. 22-28.

NOTE: In observance of Thanksgiving, there will be no contraflow or lane closures Nov. 27 unless otherwise permitted.

HIGHWAY 11

NĀʻĀLEHU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 58 and 60, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for cutting grass.

OCEAN VIEW

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 70 and 83, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for removal of existing striping, installation of centerline rumble strips, new striping and pavement markers.

PĀPĀ

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 96 and 98 in the vicinity of Kaʻohe Road and Hawaiʻi Belt Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for tree trimming and mowing.

PĀPĀ TO CAPTAIN COOK

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 96 and 113 in the vicinity of Kaʻohe Road and Trousseau Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for removal of existing striping, installation of centerline rumble strips, new striping and pavement markers.

VOLCANO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 27.4 and 30 in the vicinity of Haunani Road and Kīlauea Military Camp, from 8:30 am. to 3 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for Hawaiian Electric installing new powerline poles and lines.

HIGHWAY 19

PĀPAʻALOA TO ʻŌʻŌKALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 21 and 29 in the vicinity of Kaihuiki Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for shoulder work.

ʻŌʻŌKALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 30 and 31 in the vicinity of Māmalahoa Highway, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for bridge maintenance.
ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW AD

WAIMEA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible possible in either direction, between mile posts 55 and 57.5 in the vicinity of Novelty Lane and ʻŌpelu Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for tree trimming and shoulder work.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 56.5 and 56.7 in the vicinity of Pukalani Road and Lindsey Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for installing new traffic signals.

HIGHWAY 130

KEAʻAU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 2 in the vicinity of Keaʻau Bypass Road and Keaʻau-Pāhoa Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for mowing, mulching and shoulder work.

PĀHOA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 10 and 11 in the vicinity of Pāhoa Bypass Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for cutting grass.

HIGHWAY 190

WAIMEA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 1 in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lālamilo Farm Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for installing new traffic signals.

SOUTH KOHALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 12.2 and 16.4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for installing striping, lane lines, turn pockets and direction arrows.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 18 and 21, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for cutting grass.

HIGHWAY 2000

HILO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 0.5 and 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 24-26 for painting asphalt curbs and direction arrows.
