Register keiki now for WNBA girls basketball season with Hawai‘i County

Registration for the Jr. Women’s National Basketball Association, WNBA, Novice Girls Basketball Division in North Kohala, South Kohala and Hāmākua is now open and continues till Dec. 10.

Put on by Hawai‘i County’s Parks and Recreation Department, practice for the North Hawai‘i Novice Girls Division Basketball season starts Jan. 5 with games slated for Feb. 3 to March 12.

The teams will be broken up by age group with Novice Girls Elementary for keiki in third to fifth grade and Novice Girls Intermediate for girls in sixth to eighth grade.

Registration includes options for coaches to register a team and for players to register as individuals.

Cost per player is $30. Registration includes an NBA/WNBA reversible replica jersey. Cost to register an elementary team is $60 and $75 for an intermediate team.

A meeting for coaches and team reps is scheduled on Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. at Spencer Kalani Schutte (Waimea) District Park Gym.
