The park originally closed on Sept. 2 this year to support public safety efforts during the Hawai‘i Department of Land and Natural Resources’ crane dredging operations at the Pohoiki Boat Ramp.

While the dredging failed last month, the park remained closed as the Department of Health and the Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation ensured the water in the pond at Pohoiki is safe for the public to enter.

The public can return to the park from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day beginning Wednesday.
