Hawaiian Electric crews will replace utility poles in north Kona this week.

On Wednesday, the mauka lane of Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway, north of the Kuakini Highway intersection, will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On Thursday evening, Māmalahoa Highway north of Lawaia Road (mile markers 8-9) will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. on Friday. This work was rescheduled from last week and is being performed overnight to minimize disruptions to the community.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and to drive with caution when approaching the work zones. Flagmen will be onsite to provide traffic control.
