The public can get to know their district police officers over a cup of coffee with three community events scheduled in west Hawaiʻi this week.

As part of the Hawaiʻi Police Department’s ongoing outreach efforts, Coffee with a Cop events encourage community members to get to know their police officers in a casual setting with no agenda. Topics of conversation can range from sharing personal stories to discussing neighborhood issues.

Each event takes place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the following location and dates:

  • Cafe Florian, at 81-6637 Hawai‘i Belt Road, Kealakekua on Tuesday, Sept. 23;
  • Uncle Kimo’s Coffee Shop, 76-5897 Kona Belt Road, Hōlualoa on Wednesday, Sept. 24;
  • Kona Coffee & Tea, in the Kona Coast Shopping Center, 74-5588 Palani Road, Kailua-Kona on Friday, Sept. 26.

For questions regarding Coffee with a Cop, contact the Kona Community Policing Section at (808) 326-4646, ext. 257, 258, or 259.
