Big Island weekly lane closures: Aug. 30 to Sept. 5
Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced its weekly lane closures on Hawai‘i Island for Aug. 30 to Sept. 5.
In observance of Labor Day on Sept. 1, there will be no contraflow and lane closures unless otherwise permitted. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

—KANOELEHUA AVENUE (ROUTE 11) —
HILO
Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) in the northbound direction near mile post 3.2, in the vicinity of Waianuhea Place, on Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for maintaining pocket markings.
KEA‘AU
Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 5 to 8, in the vicinity of Ikaika Lane and Old Volcano Road, on Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for mulching, cutting grass, and shoulder work.

KURTISTOWN
Roving lane closure on Volcano Road (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 8.8 to 8.9, in the vicinity of Puko Street and North Road, on Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for maintaining pocket markings.
KURTISTOWN (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure on Volcano Road (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 9 to 11, in the vicinity of North Road and Ala Road, on Aug. 30 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for mulching, cutting grass, and shoulder work.
VOLCANO
Roving lane closure on Volcano Road (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 27.5 to 28, in the vicinity of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, on Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Hawaiian Electric to install a new pole and wiring.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 53 to 55, on Aug. 30 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 54 to 55, on Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.
NĀ‘ĀLEHU
Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 60 to 69, on Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for restriping, installation of centerline rumble strips and pavement markers.
KEALAKEKUA
Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 112 to 114, in the vicinity of Hokukano Road and West Honalo Road, on Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for grass cutting and shoulder work.

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 6 to 7, in the vicinity of Ka‘aukai Place and Hajime Lane, on Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for bridge maintenance.

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction in the vicinity of mile post 12 and 13.5, in the vicinity of Cane Road and Honomu Road, on Aug. 30 and Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for mulching, cutting trees and shoulder work.

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction in the vicinity of mile post 15 and 17, in the vicinity of Chin Chuck Road, on Aug. 30 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

SOUTH KOHALA
Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 12.2 to 16.4, in the vicinity of Saddle Road on Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for striping of lane lines, turn pockets, and direction arrows.
