Update: Hawai‘i Island runaway teen found safe

Update 10:30 a.m. Aug. 20: Hawaii Police reports that Myles Buyuan-Martin, 16, who was previously reported as a runaway, was located in South Hilo in good health at 10 a.m.

Original post: Hawaii Island police is seeking the public’s help in finding a 16-year-old endangered runaway.

Myles Buyuan-Martin was last seen on the 40 block of Santos Street in Hilo on Aug. 16 at midnight. He is a local boy, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weights 250 pounds.

The teen, who is considered endangered because of his age, has medium-length wavy brown hair and brown eyes. Myles has gauged earrings in both ears, tattoos include a monkey on his right shoulder, a cow on his left shoulder, and a depiction of the character SpongeBob SquarePants on his right wrist.

Anyone with information on Myles’ whereabouts is asked to call police at 911 or the non-emergency line at 808-935-3311.
