Update: Runaway 12-year-old located in good health

Update at 12:34 a.m. Nov. 27: Hawai‘i Island police report that 12-year-old Makua McCane, who on Tuesday evening was reported as an endangered runaway because of his age, was located in good health.

The boy was found in Mountain View.

Original post at 11:35 p.m. Nov. 26: The Hawaiʻi Island Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating missing 12-year-old Makua McCane.

The boy is 5-foot-3 and 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen on Volcano Road in Kurtistown on Friday morning, but he was not reported as a runaway until recently, the police said.

McCane is considered endangered due to his age.
