Suspect sought in Downtown Hilo burglary

Detectives with Hawai‘i Police Department are asking the public for help with identifying the suspect in a burglary that happened in early October at a Downtown Hilo business.

South Hilo patrol officers responded at about 2:40 a.m. Oct. 10 to a report of an alarm at a business in the 400 block of Manono Street. Officers determined a male suspect entered the business, removed numerous pieces of merchandise and fled the scene.

The suspect was caught on video surveillance at the business.

Anyone with information about the burglary suspect is asked to call the police department’s non-emergency number at 808-935-3311 or contact Detective Kimo Keli‘ipa‘akaua at 808-961-2375 or via email at kimo.keliipaakaua@hawaiicounty.gov.

Those who want to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 808-961-8300.
