The National Weather Service forecast office in Honolulu has issued a wind advisory in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday for the summits of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa on the Big Island.

East winds 35 to 45 mph are forecast, with gusts up to 60 mph.

Winds at these speeds will make it difficult to drive, especially for high-profile vehicles.

The public should consider postponing travel to the summits until conditions improve.
