Big Island weekly lane closures: Aug. 31 to Sept. 6
Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures for Aug. 31 to Sept. 6.
In observance of Labor Day, on Sept. 2, there will be no lane closures or HOV/Contraflow Lane operations. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —
KEA‘AU TO KURTISTOWN
Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction, between milepost 7 to 10, in the vicinity of Old Volcano Road and Hale Pule Loop, on Sept. 3 through Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between milepost 17.6 to 18.5, on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for Opea and Waikaumalo Bridge maintenance repairs.

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between milepost 24 to 29, in the vicinity of Papa‘a Loa Avenue and Moonlight Road, on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and shoulder work.

Shoulder closure on Kawaihae Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between milepost 58 to 59, in the vicinity of Kohala Mountain Road, on Sept. 3 through Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and shoulder work.
