No injuries were reported after a small Cessna airplane made an emergency hard landing this morning in a pasture land south of Upolu Airport in Hawī.

Hawai‘i Island police responded to the scene at 10:59 a.m. When they arrived at the field the operator and sole occupant reported losing all power to the aircraft’s engine at around 300 feet causing forcing the hard landing.

The pilot was treated at the scene for a minor injury by Hawai‘i Fire Department personnel and released.
