Big Island lane closures: Aug. 24-30

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced lane closures for Aug. 24-30. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.

— KANOELEHUA AVENUE /MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

HILO (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction, between milepost 4 to 6.5, in the vicinity of Lama Street on Aug. 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

PĀHALA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between milepost 31 to 35 on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for grass and vegetation cutting.

CAPTAIN COOK

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between milepost 97 to 104, in the vicinity of Haleili Street and Filipino Clubhouse Road on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for crews to work on safety improvements on the roadway.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD/ QUEEN KA‘AHUMANU HIGHWAY (ROUTE 19) —

HILO

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between milepost 2.60 to 2.61, in the vicinity Wailuku Bridge, on Aug. 27, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for Wailuku Bridge deck joint repair.

NĪNOLE

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between milepost 17.62 to 18.57, on Aug. 28 through Aug. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for bridge maintenance and repairs.

NINOLE TO PAPA‘ALOA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between milepost 18 to 24, on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

PAPA‘ALOA TO O‘OKALA

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between milepost 24 to 29, in the vicinity of Papa‘a Loa Ave and Moonlight Road on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and shoulder work.

— KEALAKEHE PARKWAY (ROUTE 197) —

KAILUA-KONA

Single lane closure on Kealakehe Parkway (Route 197) possible in either direction between milepost 0.17 to 0.40, in the vicinity of Kanalani Street on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for paving of new bike lane and signage installations.

— DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 200) —

HILO

Alternating single lane closure on Daniel K. Inouye Highway (Route 200) possible in either direction between milepost 10.29 to 12.29 on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for crews to apply new striping and raised pavement markers.

HILO

Alternating single lane closure on Daniel K. Inouye Highway (Route 200) possible in either direction between milepost 17.3 to 20.8, on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for crews to apply new striping and raised pavement markers.

HILO (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Daniel K. Inouye Highway (Route 200) possible in either direction between milepost 18 to 22, on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for shoulder work.

Single lane closure on Daniel K. Inouye Highway (Route 200) possible in either direction between milepost 18 to 22 on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for shoulder work.

— AKAKA FALLS ROAD (ROUTE 220) —

HONOMŪ

Single lane closure on Akaka Falls Road (Route 220) possible in either direction, between milepost 3.5 to 3.7 on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for crews to transition a residential roadway into State Highway 220.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) —

KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between milepost 6.2 to 10.6 on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for application of permanent striping as part of the Kohala Mountain Road Resurfacing project.

— AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 270) —

KAWAIHAE

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction, between milepost 0.5 to 3 in the vicinity of Spencer Beach Park Road on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

HAWĪ

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction, between milepost 11 to 15, in the vicinity of Lapakahi State Historical Park on Aug. 26 through Aug. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for shoulder work and tree trimming.

— PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) —

HILO (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Aug. 26 through the morning of Aug. 30, from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving the roadway as part of the Puainako Street Widening Project.
