The final recommended draft for the Hawai‘i County general plan 2045 will be released July 29.

The general plan will serve as a 25-year blueprint for the long-term growth and sustainable development of Hawaiʻi Island. The document establishes the vision, policies, and actions necessary to enhance the overall quality of life for residents.

The plan also addresses topics such as active living, climate change, quality jobs, housing choice and affordability, local economy and traffic.

Hawai‘i County Mayor Mitch Roth thanked those who came together to work on the general plan.
