Upcoming lane closures as Kohala schools improve crosswalks

The Department of Public Works Highway Division has announced it will install three raised crosswalks in front of Kohala Elementary, Middle, and High Schools from June 17 to 21, causing lane closures.
The work will be done on Kynnersley Road, Honomakau Road, and Akoni Pule Highway from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, weather permitting.
One-lane closures will be in effect during this time, and flaggers will be directing the traffic flow at all work areas.
“We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we work to improve our community’s safety and infrastructure,” the department said in a statement.
