A Hilo man is facing charges after reportedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend leaving her with multiple injuries including a nasal bone fracture and concussion.

On Monday, Hawai‘i Island police were called to a hotel on Pu‘ueo Street in Hilo at 7:50 a.m. on a report of an active domestic. When officers arrived on scene, they determined that a physical domestic occurred between 60-year-old Vance Elroy Bond and a 52-year-old woman, who suffered extensive bruising and swelling to her facial area.

Through the course of their investigation, officers determined that Bond refused to let the victim leave after multiple attempts, and held her against her will within the hotel room.
