Big Island police renew request for help with locating endangered Kona woman
Big Island police are once again asking for help from the public with finding an endangered Kona woman who has been missing since the middle of November.
Kunzang Yuthok, 65, was last seen the morning of Nov. 20 in the Old Kona Airport Park in Kailua-Kona. Her family is deeply concerned for her well-being and is offering a cash reward for information that could lead to finding her.
Yuthok is Asian with a medium complexion, 5-foot-3, 110 pounds, with salt-and-pepper hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black top and shorts, a cap and light blue running shoes.
Anyone who might have information about Yuthok’s whereabouts is asked to call the Hawai‘i Police Department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311 or contact Acting Detective Joel Furuto with the Area II Criminal Investigation Section at 808-326-4646, ext. 281, or via email at joel.furuto@hawaiicounty.gov.
Police are also requesting anyone who was driving or fishing between 8:30 and 11 a.m. Nov. 20 in the vicinity, who might have dashcam or video footage, and anyone who was surfing at Old Kona Airport Park at the surf spots known as Pavilions, Middles, Randoms and/or Superbowl’s during the same time period is asked to contact Furuto.
