Wai‘ōhinu Recycling and Transfer Station

Wai‘ōhinu Recycling and Transfer Station in Kaʻū will close May 18 so crews can complete construction of the upper portion of the facility. The station is expected to reopen on Memorial Day, May 29.

During the closure, residents are encouraged to use the nearest available recycling and transfer stations in Ocean View, located at 92-9017 Māmalahoa Highway, and Pāhala, located at 96-1250 Old Māmalahoa Highway. Both transfer stations are open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
