Flood advisory for parts of the Big Island canceled

The National Weather Service has canceled the flood advisory that was previously in effect for communities around and south of Kailua-Kona on the Big Island.
Weather radar shows that the heavy rain that had been impacting the area has diminished.
At 5:36 p.m., radar showed isolated heavy showers and thunderstorms over leeward and interior portions of the island. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour, mainly around Kailua-Kona and north to Waikōloa.
