Green to deliver inaugural State of the State address this week
Gov. Josh Green will lay out his agenda for the state during his inaugural State of the State address this week.
The governor will deliver his speech at 10 a.m. Monday to a joint session of the Hawaiʻi Legislature in the House chamber at the state Capitol in Honolulu. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. for members of the public who want to attend in person. There will be no public parking at the Capitol.
There also are several ways to watch the speech online.
The address will be streamed live on the governor’s Facebook page. ‘Ōlelo Community Media is also providing live coverage of the address on its channel 49, and Hawai‘i News Now will broadcast the speech on air on KHNL on Spectrum channel 13 and K5 on Spectrum channel 6 and online.
Green said following last week’s opening session of the 32nd State Legislature that there is a lot of common ground between his and legislators’ agendas and thinks the state has the chance to resolve some longstanding issues this year.
Green thinks there can be some meaningful change made: “This is the time,” the governor said. “The time to move forward is now.”
