Hilo man charged with sex assault following domestic incident
A Hilo man is facing charges of sexual assault after a domestic incident on Monday night.
Thirty-three-year-old Jason King Hall was officially charged with with two counts of abuse family household member, first-degree sexual assault, and second-degree unlawful imprisonment. Charges stem from an incident in Hilo when Hawaii police officers responded to the Hilo Medical Center after a woman went to the Emergency Room stating she had been sexually assaulted.
According to police, the 27-year-old female victim reported being involved in a verbal argument with Hall that escalated to where Hall placed his hands around her neck, impeding her ability to breathe.
“He also forced himself on her and sexually assaulted her against her will,” according to a police press release Thursday evening. “Following the incident, Hall refused to let the victim leave to go to the hospital for treatment by pushing her back into her room.”
Hall remains in police custody pending his initial court appearance scheduled this afternoon. His bail is set at $66,000.
