Both lanes have been reclosed on Highway 11 in South Kona near Kona Paradise between Kaohe Mauka Road and Kukui O Pae Place for the next several hours due to ongoing electrical work.

One lane is now open on Highway 11 near Kona Paradise in South Kona.

The lane is open for traffic contraflow on Highway 11, between Kaohe Mauka Rd. and Kukui O Pae Place. Expect delays as ongoing electrical work will continue for several hours.

Original post: The Hawai’i Police Department is advising motorists to avoid Highway 11 near Kona Paradise in South Kona because of a traffic issue.

A vehicle crash near the 96-mile marker has resulted in the highway’s closure between Kaohe Mauka Road and Kukui O Pae Place. A detour will be required for the next several hours.
