Hilo couple face multiple drug and firearm offenses

A Big Island couple faces multiple charges, including allegedly being in possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl, heroin and methylphenidate, after a narcotics search warrant was executed at their Akolea Road home.

The Hawai‘‘i County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney announced says 33-year-old Bronson Isaac Kaleo Lee and 33-year-old Priscilla Lee of Hilo were arrested and charged after officers with the Hawai’i Police Department’s Area I Vice Section executed the warrant Oct. 24. Bronson Lee was also arrested on two unrelated Big Island Drug Court bench warrants.

Bronson Lee, who has 16 prior felony convictions, was charged with two counts of ownership or possession of firearm prohibited, ownership or possession of ammunition prohibited, four counts of third-degree promoting a dangerous drug and two counts of storage of firearms with respect to minors. Review of court minutes also indicates he is currently pending revocation of his felony probation on two unrelated matters.

Priscilla Lee is charged with first-degree hindering prosecution, four counts of third-degree promoting a dangerous drug and two counts of storage of firearms with respect to minors.

The most serious offense, ownership or possession prohibited, is a Class B felony that carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

Bronson Lee is scheduled to make his initial appearance Thursday afternoon in Hilo District Court. He remains in custody in lieu of $119,000 bail. Priscilla Lee made her initial appearance Wednesday in Hilo District Court, where she was granted supervised release despite prosecutors’ objections. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled Nov. 9.

The investigation was handled by members of the Area I Vice Section. The case is being prosecuted by Deputy County Prosecuting Attorney Elyssa Correia Keltner.
