UPDATE: Police find Runaway Kona Teen

Updated on Feb. 14: Mary K. Costner was found in good health. She was located on O’ahu in October 2022.

Original post: Police are asking for the public’s assistance with locating a missing Big Island teen.

The Hawai‘i Police Department said in a media release that 15-year-old Mary K. Costner of Kailua-Kona was reported as a runaway. She was last seen between 1:15 and 3:15 p.m. Aug. 10 in the area of Kealakehe High School.

Costner is described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall, 110 pounds, with brown, straight, medium-length hair and brown eyes. She usually wears her hair up in a ponytail.
