Weekly COVID Update: 542 New Cases Reported on Big Island

The state Department of Health reported 4,075 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, July 27, bringing the statewide total to 325,944. Twenty-three new fatalities were reported.

A total of 542 new infections were reported Wednesday on the Big Island. A map documenting new cases by district throughout all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 226,032
Hawaiʻi: 36,259
Maui: 37,088
Kaua‘i: 16,441
Moloka‘i: 1,193
Lana‘i: 772
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 8,159

Of those total cases, 10,978 required hospitalization, with 159 currently hospitalized. At least 1,571 have died since the pandemic began. Hospitalization data is updated Monday through Friday, except on state and federal holidays.
