Update: Hawai‘i Island police reported at 12:59 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, that Jason Bjune, who was previously reported missing, was located Tuesday in Kapoho in good health. Police thank the public for its assistance in this matter.

Original story: Police are asking for the community’s assistance in locating 49-year-old Jason Bjune of Kalapana who has been reported missing.

He was last seen on Tuesday, July 26 around 6:45 a.m. on Government Beach Road in an area known as Kalamanu arches, wearing pink surf shorts, dark colored flannel shirt and an orange hat.

Bjune is described as having a tan complexion, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 150 pounds, with brown curly hair and brown eyes.

He is known to frequent Kalapana and the Pahoa areas.

Police ask anyone with information on Bjune’s whereabouts to call the police department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311, attention Officer Paul Rose.
