Hydrant Flow Tests Scheduled for North and South Kohala, South Hilo in Early August

The Department of Water Supply will be conducting a fire hydrant flow test within Kawaihae Harbor along ‘Akoni Pule Highway in South Kohala between the hours of 12-1 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3.

The affected area from the harbor, including Ka‘ewa Place along Akoni Highway, may experience slightly discolored and turbid water for several hours after the test.

Customers are advised to refrain from washing clothes and to store a container of water for their
drinking needs until the supply of water is restored to normal.

in South Hilo between the hours of 10:30-11:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4.

The affected area includes ‘Akoni Pule Highway between Kynnersly Road and Akana Lane but not including Kynnersly Road in North Kohala.
