Weekly COVID Update: 516 New Cases Confirmed on Big Island
The state Department of Health reported 4,381 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, June 29, bringing the statewide total to 313,076. Twenty new fatalities were reported.
A total of 516 new infections were reported Wednesday on the Big Island. A map documenting new cases by district throughout all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.
The island-by-island case count is as follows:
- O‘ahu: 217,248
- Hawaiʻi: 34,660
- Maui: 35,659
- Kaua‘i: 15,867
- Moloka‘i: 1,150
- Lana‘i: 764
- Pending: 0
- Out-of-State: 7,728
Of those total cases, 10,372 required hospitalization, with 207 currently hospitalized. At least 1,524 have died since the pandemic began. Hospitalization data is updated Monday through Friday, except on state and federal holidays.
