Life Care Center of Hilo Employee Wins Customer Service Award
An employee at Life Care Center of Hilo was recently awarded for her dedication to customer service.
Florence Sabate, outpatient rehabilitation coordinator, received Life Care Centers of America’s quarterly Mountain States Division Whatever It Takes Champions Award. The award honors associates for extraordinary acts of kindness. Sabate also was presented a $250 cash prize during an awards ceremony at the Hilo facility.
Monthly awards are presented in Life Care facilities nationwide based on nominations from fellow associates, family members residents and guests. Sabate was one of only eight associates from Life Care’s more than 200 facilities nationwide to receive the quarterly award.
She also won the facility’s monthly Whatever It Takes Champions Award for January.
“Flo has always jumped in in our most vulnerable times of need, from Hurricane Lane to COVID-19 to volcano eruptions, etc.,” Mark Mann, Life Care Center executive director and regional vice president, said in a press release. “She brings her best daily and the extraordinary when the tough times come knocking. We love Flo at the big house that is Life Care Center of Hilo! She truly represents one of our mantras, ‘Our ‘ohana taking care of yours.’”
During the holidays, Sabate delivered home-cooked meals to several outpatients who might not otherwise have had a holiday meal. In addition to doing her daily rehab duties, she has also served as a nursing aide and assisted the admissions and dietary departments.
“You get rewarded for paying it forward,” Sabate said in the press release.
